Navarre Hospitality Group has received a lot of praise for its fine dining restaurants Cafe Navarre (South Bend) and Artisan (Elkhart) over the past few years. While both of those restaurants have great food, I actually prefer having dinner and drinks at another one of the group’s lesser-known restaurants – Rocky River Tap and Table. Like its sister restaurants, Rocky River Tap and Table also offers delicious and high-quality food and drinks, but in a more casual environment and with a lower price tag.
Rocky River Tap and Table is a farm-to-fork restaurant – they source their ingredients from local farms, breweries and wineries. You can see a list of the suppliers on large chalkboards posted on the back wall of the restaurant.
The menu is made up of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, flatbreads and entrees with a creative twist and changes a bit each season based on what ingredients are available. Some of my favorite items on the current menu include the Bacon Jam and Brie appetizer served with toasted french bread, the Vegetable Stack and Lake Perch Handhelds, Grown Up Mac and Cheese (which includes bacon and an awesome cheddar bratwurst made by DC Meats), and the Rocky River Burger made with ground prime rib. You can check out the full menu of deliciousness on Rocky River’s website.
In addition to many unique food items, Rocky River has an extensive cocktail, draft beer and wine list. All of the draft beers are sourced from breweries in the Midwest, which I personally think is awesome.
Rocky River is a great place to join your friends or family for lunch or dinner in a classy, yet casual environment. It opens at 11:00 a.m. daily.
